Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of women who knit and crochet shawls and small lap robes as a tangible expression of prayer, comfort, and love. Members work at their own pace from home and also gather twice a month on Thursdays in the Rectory Meeting Room for fellowship, prayer, and creating. Please see the weekly bulletin calendar for meeting dates or check the calendar here.

Each shawl is lovingly created with continued prayer for the person who will receive it. The ministry also creates blankets for babies and children being baptized at Saint George, welcoming them into our parish family with a beautiful reminder of our prayers and love. Before being distributed, the shawls and gifts are blessed by a priest, making them a special gift of faith and love.

Through this ministry, we hope to remind each recipient that they are surrounded by the prayers and care of our Saint George Parish community.
