Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Instituted by Jesus Christ, the Eucharist is truly His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. Christ remains present in the Eucharist even outside of Mass and is always worthy of our deepest reverence and adoration.

Catholics who have been baptized and prepared to receive Holy Communion are invited to receive the Eucharist at Mass, provided they are properly disposed and in a state of grace. Anyone interested in becoming Catholic or completing the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation—is encouraged to contact the Rectory Office to learn more about OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults).

First Holy Communion is traditionally celebrated in the spring of third grade following two years of formal faith formation. Children beyond third grade who have not yet received their First Holy Communion should enroll in our faith formation program and participate in the appropriate sacramental preparation.
