Sacristan
Sacristans are dedicated parishioners who generously give their time and energy to help prepare for the celebration of the Mass and other liturgical functions of the Church. Through their service, sacristans help ensure that the sacred vessels, linens, vestments, books, and other items needed for worship are properly prepared and in place before each celebration.
Sacristans serve an important role in supporting the priest, deacons, altar servers, and other ministers so that the liturgy may be celebrated reverently, prayerfully, and with dignity. They assist with preparations before Mass, help attend to the needs of the ministers during the celebration, and ensure that the sacristy and liturgical items are properly cared for afterward.
Sacristans also distribute the low-gluten hosts at their assigned Masses for parishioners who require them. Their quiet and faithful service is an important ministry that helps create a welcoming and prayerful environment for our entire Saint George Parish community.
